From the feeling of a space to the joint between materials
Vela Design has worked in building design, fitted interiors and site details for more than five years. That experience has shown us that a good space connects the ideas in a drawing with everyday use and the work needed to realise it.
VELAYEN brings a considered approach to space and materials into the garden. We see shade, paths, seating, trees and their relationship to the building as parts of one place—an outdoor space you can enjoy every day.
From Bang Phra and Si Racha in Chonburi to a cafe in Kanchanaburi, each site informs how we think about context, use and coordination. Before arranging a new site visit, we review its location, scope and team availability together.

Design Beyond Daylight means considering a garden at the times people actually use it. We discuss daytime shade alongside views from inside and movement after sunset.

When the sky becomes part of the garden
Look at tree silhouettes against the sky, when lights come on, and the atmosphere between day and night.
A garden you can feel from indoors
Plan light around paths and places in use, considering reflections, privacy and areas that can remain dark.
Darkness is also a material.
We choose what to reveal and what to leave in shadow. Light suited to paths, seating and context can shape the atmosphere without illuminating every tree.
Day, dusk or night views and lighting details are agreed according to each project’s brief and scope.

Garden Lab & Co. is VELAYEN’s garden and outdoor design and build team. We study planting, materials, light and the ways people use space, connecting the design with work on site.
